It would be interesting to note some unique features/phenomena in gemstones which includes the following:   

(1) Cats eye- Chatoyancy  A thin fine sharp strip that “moves” when the stone is moved. Looks like the pupil of a cats eyes. This phenomena is seen only when the stone is cabochon polished and best seen under focussed light. The stone is polished so that the stripe is lengthwise. Faces of Rudraksha and their benefits

Amongst the different types/faces of the Rudraksha, the uncommon are those more than 16 faceted beads. The reason being that in each seasonal harvest of Rudrakshas it usually yields plenty of the two- to 16-faceted beads but only one or two of the ones with more faces, with the 21-faceted bead being particularly rare.
